The Powers of Matthew Star is an American sci-fi television series, aired on NBC from 1982 until 1983 for one season of 22 episodes.
- "The adventures of high-school student Matthew Star, who is actually a superpowered alien Prince from another world."
In the first episode of the series, Jackal, aired September 17, 1982, a female assassin is sent to kill protagonist Matthew Star - she is eventually revealed to be a fembot. The assassin is destroyed when pushed in the high-school's swimming pool, then unmasked in a manner highly similar to the The Bionic Woman television series.
