Androids may be specialized for a certain range of purposes, either because they have additional abilities which organic humans lack, because they lack certain abilities which organic human have, because they have different motives from organic humans, or some combination thereof.
Sexual specializations are particularly prominent in fembot literature, particularly fembot erotica, but other specializations are also common.
