Intro

This is a story based entirely on the robots I developed for my anthology series Spaz Studios Presents The Future Expo. This story takes place about twenty years later, in a rural area of northern California. The main character is Jack Brown, a genius in cybernetics and robotics who took over his Great Uncle's robot repair shop, though he repairs the highly realistic androids developed by Spaztec. His Great Uncle also had a general store on his property that he used to earn him enough money to improve his living conditions. Following his Uncle's death, Jack staffs it with several androids that he has acquired over the years and continues his Uncle's work while also trying to expand his business...

Android specifications

Mark I androids

These are the androids initially introduced in The Future Expo. While being extremely realistic compared to competitor androids and previous models, the original design proved to be too ambitious and as such, many bugs and design flaws popped up during the public beta testing and even after the general release. While this model was short lived and quickly replaced by the newer, more reliable Mark IIs, they still proved useful. These are the basic specs of the Mark I androids:

  • Anatomically correct:
    • Realistic skin and musculature
    • Realistic hair
    • Capable of perspiration (Optional) utilizing a variable saline mix to allow for a variety of realistic scents
    • Capable of eating, drinking, and imbibing (Optional)
      • Foodstuffs have to be manually drained by either the android or a technician
    • Sexually capable (Optional)
  • Power system capable of up to 18 hours of continuous operation
    • AC connection in lower back, power is supplemented by kinetic energy during motion
  • Varying levels of Artificial Intelligence
    • Personal trainer and Secretary models utilize Level 3 A.I.
    • Housewife, Friend, and Partier models utilize Level 4 A.I.
  • Easily removable and replaceable limb and components
    • Arms and Hands
    • Legs and Feet
    • Head
    • Processing components

Mark II androids

After the failure of the Mark I androids, the Mark IIs were quickly worked on. They featured an enhanced and refined A.I., with more programming options and much more reliability. While their exterior realism remained more or less the same, the internal components were further enhanced to improve efficiency. The biggest design flaw, that being the minimal shielding protecting the A.I. core from sudden impacts, was fixed by encasing the core in a shock proof container and enhancing the strength of the musculature in the torso by 37%.

  • Anatomically correct:
    • Realistic skin and musculature
    • Realistic hair
    • Capable of perspiration (Optional) utilizing a variable saline mix to allow for a variety of realistic scents
    • Capable of eating, drinking, and imbibing (Optional)
      • For androids capable of eating, the food is converted into energy and drained through the natural orifices.
    • Sexually capable (Optional)
