Casella Reese recharging in the movie Cyborg² |
A recharge scene is that which shows an android having her power supply recharged.
This is frequently depicted in older works as a fembot being directly plugged into a power source through an open panel or exposed socket, such as a generator or battery, though more modern works can also feature a fembot connected to or standing in a "cradle" device similar to a cell phone charger. This is frequently used as an android version of sleeping, and is one of a number of means of displaying said character's artificial nature. It can also be used as a set up to show that an android character needs to recharge, and that failure to do so could lead to an android character shutting down.
