An Android is an automation designed to look like a human.
In gynoid related fiction and media, an android is typically a robot which looks as close to a human as possible, with skin, hair, and proper male or female anatomies. A male is typically referred to as an android while a female is referred to as a gynoid.
Another popular name for a female robot is Fembot.
