Casella Reese recharging in the movie Cyborg² |
A recharge scene is that which shows an android having her power supply recharged.
When recharging is shown in TV or movies, there is often a power cord plugged into an open access panel or other entry point. The other end of this cord leads to a power supply, such as an electrical power outlet or a generator. In some cases, the android is offline while recharging. Some androids are able to recharge while they are still online though. Androids can also recharge by having their batteries replaced.
In fiction, recharge scenes can be used to reveal to the audience and to other characters that a certain character is a robot. Scenes like this can often involve access panels, electronic beeping and other indicators of a robot's synthetic state.
