The "Robot Maid" is a common trope in Japanese Anime and other sci-fi media. A Robot Maid is a gynoid that is designed for housecleaning activities, though they frequently are programmed with secondary tasks ranging from things as benign as pleasure functions to as unlikely as being combat gynoids that are practically miniaturized mecha. Often times a gynoid designed for some other task will have maid functions.
Examples in fiction
- Azusa from the animated feature Azusa will help.
- Hand Maid May.
- The mansion guard gynoids in the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex episode "SA: Automated Capitalism – ¥€$."
- Though not designed for it, R. Dorothy Wayneright takes on the job of housekeeper and maid in the anime series The Big O.
