The "Robot Maid" is a common trope in Japanese Anime and other Japanese sci-fi media. A Robot Maid is a gynoid that is designed for housecleaning activities, though they frequently are programmed with secondary tasks ranging from things as benign as pleasure functions to as unlikely as being combat gynoids that are practically miniaturized mecha. Often times a gynoid designed for some other task will have maid functions.
