Summary
Following several legal challenges by Blizzard-Activision, the original incarnation of Heroic Mission went underground and began making changes. Rebranded first as "Ares Fire" and later as "Shellfire", developers began to remove any characters that too closely resembled their counterparts from Overwatch. This led to the removal of Soldier 9527 (possibly due to an unlicensed usage of a Stormtrooper skin), Jenny, Sophia, The Pope, and several others. Many characters that were directly lifted from other works were also removed. When possible, these characters were replaced with more appropriate names (ie Doctor Forrest Gump to Dr. Gump, and Soldier 9527 to Spanky). In addition, the English on the site has been vastly improved, though at the cost of the original lore.
At the moment, the game is available for download on Android devices for free and has garnered a respectable fanbase of loyal players and meme enthusiasts.
