The Borg Queen was a fictional cyborg from the television series Star Trek: Voyager. She was portrayed by Alice Krige in Star Trek: First Contact and in the series finale of Star Trek Voyager. She was also portrayed by Susanna Thompson in the Star Trek Voyager two-parters: Dark Frontier, and Unimatrix Zero.
Background
The Borg Queen is a very unique member of the Borg collective. She was an individual who was assimilated by the Borg like any other, accept for whatever reason, she is not like the other Borg. She has a definite personality, she shows emotions, and she acts and even refers to herself as an individual. She also appears to be tied into the entire collective as a unifying force to direct their actions, not unlike the queen of a bee colony. The Borg Queen that the Federation dealt with in the 24th century claimed to be assimilated from Species 125. Not only does the Borg Queen act individually, she also acts quite ruthlessly in order to further the interests of the collective.
Another thing that sets her apart from the other Borg is that she has a completely mechanical body, which her head and upper torso could connect with if she chose to move about in a humanoid form. This gave her the impression of having a perfect form, free from bodily pleasure.
